Social Media Manager

Location: Nairobi Type: Contract Application Deadline: 12th August 2022


The main role of the Social Media Manager is overseeing and managing assigned brand interactions online by implementing social media platforms’ digital strategies. Duties include social media campaign management, community management, social media analysis and reporting, identifying trends in customer interactions and executing digital campaigns to build brand communities.


  • Plan and Implement social media and communication campaigns and strategies developed by the team to achieve client business goals
  • Work with the strategy team to develop community management protocols for our clients
  • Perform research on current digital benchmark trends, audience preferences to develop insights that will improve campaign execution and advice strategy team on best current practices on digital platforms
  • Monitor, track and report on digital campaigns and provide recommendations to clients to ensure success
  • Coordinate with the content & creative team to ensure content scheduling and posting happen in a timely manner
  • Build, manage and grow online communities through online engagement strategies
  • Work with the strategy team and creative team to ensure content is in line with the strategy and brand goals.
  • Stay up-to-date with current technologies, social media trends, digital tools and applications that would improve digital campaign execution – reach, engagement and leads for clients
  • Work to ensure campaign growth and success for assigned clients

What are we looking for?

  • 1-2 years of experience as a Social Media Specialist/Manager or similar role
  • Excellent knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram, Google+ and other social media best practices
  • Understanding of SEO and web traffic metrics
  • Understanding of social media reporting and analytics
  • Experience with doing audience and buyer persona research
  • Good understanding of social media KPIs
  • Familiarity with graphic design, social media and websites
  • Excellent multitasking skills
  • Great leadership skills
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
  • Team player
  • Good time-management skills
  • Great interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
  • Degree in Marketing or relevant field
